Opportunities to Serve

Each Sunday our worship experience happens because of the many people who volunteer to serve. There are many opportunities to offer your gifts and talents to help create meaningful worship for all who attend. If you are led to use your gifts, we invite you to contact the church office or talk to a staff member.

Greeter – welcomes people at the door of the sanctuary, hands out bulletins and answers any questions such as pointing out bathrooms, where people can sit in worship, make initial introductions to ushers.

Usher – help people find seats if asked, collect offering, guide people to Holy Communion and any other needs as they arise.

Reader (Lector) – reads the appointed Bible lessons for each service.

Candle Lighter (Acolyte) – lights the altar candles and puts them out at the end of worship, helps serve Holy Communion.

Assisting Minister – leads the congregation in reciting the Creed, Prayers of the People and assists with Holy Communion by serving bread, sends the congregation with the words of dismissal.

Communion Server – helps to distribute Holy Communion.

Prayer Minister – prays with and anoints people who come for prayer during Holy Communion.

Choir Member – sing with the Chancel Choir at our Service.

Praise Team Member – help lead congregational singing at our Service.

Musician – use your gifts of music to enhance our worship.

Altar Guild – prepare altar for Holy Communion, hang seasonal paraments and banners, clear altar after worship, re-stock pew racks with literature and sharpen pencils.
