About Christ Lutheran Church

Christ Lutheran Church began as a part of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of the American Lutheran Church. People began to meet at the Leland Stanford Middle School on August 26, 1956. Pastor Art Odden was the first of 16 pastors who have served this congregation.The Rev. Dr. Pamela JS Challis is our current pastor.

Christ Lutheran broke ground on site November 10,1957.

We are now part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, http://elca.org/ and the Southwest California Synod, http://socalsynod.org

We are a Reconciling in Christ congregation. This means we publicly welcome all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in every aspect of our congregation’s faith, life and ministry.

Our Campus

We are located on the South side of Stearns Street between Palo Verde and Studebaker.
